Osteopath in Madrid Specializing in Muscular and Physiological Chains
Hello, I'm Andréanne Duchemin, a certified osteopath from Canada specializing in muscular and physiological chains using the Busquet method. I began my osteopathic practice in 2015 after working for seven years as a nurse. My hospital experience allowed me to witness the incredible ability of the body to transform and adapt, which changed my perspective on health.
In 2017, I decided to focus on osteopathy full-time. This shift was inspired by patients who taught me the importance of taking care of health before illnesses arise. I am pleased to offer my services in Madrid’s city center, and am fully committed to helping my clients move freely and pain-free.

What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a manual therapy that focuses on diagnosing, treating, and preventing musculoskeletal problems. It involves hands-on techniques to manipulate and mobilize muscles, joints, and tissues. Osteopaths believe the body can naturally rebalance itself and aim to enhance this ability. They take a holistic approach, considering physical, emotional, and environmental factors. Techniques include massages, stretches, and joint mobilizations. Osteopathy is effective for relieving back pain, sports injuries, and postural issues. Training in osteopathy is extensive and requires a professional license in many countries.
The Busquet Method
About the Busquet Method of Muscular Chains
The Method of Muscular and Physiological Chains was developed by a French osteopath, Léopold Busquet, in 1986. It combines principles and techniques from osteopathy, physiotherapy, and global postural reeducation. This method is widely practiced in several countries.
Physiological chains are anatomical complexes that connect all the structures of the body. The body consists of four muscular chains and three connective tissue chains, which encompass the organs, nerves, blood vessels, and the posterior part of the body.
The Importance of Postural Balance
This chain organization helps us understand why, for example, significant digestive tension can alter posture or why tension in the pelvis can cause deformities in the knees or feet. The Busquet Method provides a precise and comprehensive postural assessment. It is highly effective for people suffering from postural problems (such as scoliosis, kyphosis, knock knees, thoracic indentations, unequal leg length, etc.) who do not respond well to conventional treatments and are more prone to chronic pain.
